4.4 Replacing Chemical Bottles
The chemical bottles should be regularly replaced with fresh chemicals, and
whenever chemicals are insufficient for planned wash cycles. The quantity of
chemical in each bottle should be checked regularly before wash operations.
WARNING — Chemical burn and/or eye injury hazard
Chemicals are caustic and can cause adverse effects to exposed tissues.

DO NOT get chemicals in eyes, on skin, or attempt to consume orally.

Read and follow the precautions and instructions on the chemical label
and in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) prior to handling a chemical,
changing chemical containers, or servicing the chemical injection pumps
and lines.

Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) whenever
handling chemicals or servicing the chemical injection pumps and lines.
This should include plastic gloves, goggles or a full-face visor, and a
disposable plastic apron.
l
Guidelines to be followed in case of emergency caused by chemical
contact should be displayed prominently near the equipment.
1. Inside the chemical enclosure, a detergent
bottle is put on a tray on the left side, and the
detergent pickup hose connects to a port on the
left side, marked
CHEMICAL PORT 1

indicated by

in the image below. A lubricant
bottle is put on a tray on the right side, and the
lubricant pickup hose connects to a port on the
right side, marked
CHEMICAL PORT 2
, and
indicated by
B
in the image below.
Do not mix up the chemical pickups.
Replace chemical bottles one at a time.
