13.2.4     Internal Argon Gas Filter Replacement

 

 

The function of the in-line filter is to ensure that no 
particulate matter that may be present in the argon 
gas bottle can travel forward into the ArConnect® 
argon  probe  connector  and  patient  treatment 
probe.    The  filter  removes  particulates  to  0.2 
microns. 

 

 

 

 

 

Argon Filter Replacement 

1.  Ensure the gi4000 is powered OFF and the power cord is disconnected from the wall 

outlet and the power cord receptacle on the rear panel of the unit. 

2.  Remove all cover screws. 

a.  Five (5) on back panel; 
b.  One (1) on left side panel as viewed from front. 
c.  One (1) on right side panel as viewed from front. 

3.  Remove two (2) screws and gas bottle tube cap, as shown in 

Figure 13-23

 below.

4.  Remove the gi4000 cover by sliding it backwards and lifting up. 
5.  Locate the in-line argon filter near the power entry module, as shown in 

Figure 13-24.

 

 

 

NOTE: 

The gi4000 is equipped 

with an internal Argon Gas Filter  
(REF No. G1200005) which must 
be changed annually.
