AlphaCom XE - Installation, Configuration & Operation
AlphaCom XE7
In AlphaCom XE7, serial port 0 is on a 9-pin D-SUB connector and
serial port 1 is on an RJ45 connector. These connectors are found on
the AlphaCom XE7 backplane. Serial port 0 is RS232, but port 1 can be
set to RS232 or RS422/RS485 by jumpers on the backplane.

AlphaCom XE1
The connections and pinouts are identical to that of AlphaCom XE7.
The Ethernet and serial ports are located at the rear of the cabinet and
the RS232/RS422 jumpers are found on the AMC-IP board.
RIO controller unit connection
12.5.1
In the 15-pin D-SUB for the RIO Controller Unit, the pins 2 & 4 and 9 &
11 must be connected together.
The signal to and from AlphaCom XE is taken from the RJ45 serial port
1, i.e. pins 1 and 2 if RS485 is used or pins 3 and 6 if RS232 is used.
