Upgrade & Backup

It is necessary to make a backup of the client data from AlphaPro before
upgrading the software. This is performed by selecting
GetAll
from
AlphaPro
and storing the backup on the PC.
The backup from AlphaWeb or station can not be stored and retrieved
from the AMC-IP’s flash memory if the NVRAM or SW is upgraded to
a newer version. AMC-IP will perform an automatic cold start and load
default numbers, etc.
Backup from AlphaWeb or station (7820) is only possible if the client
data is to be loaded back to the same NVRAM and SW versions.
Software Upgrade
11.1
AlphaCom has one AMC (AlphaCom Module Controller) system
software package. This package is named:
alpha_sys_aa_bb_cc_dd.apkg
where
aa_bb_cc_dd
is the version number.
AMC System upgrade
To upgrade the AMC system package:
● Log in to
AlphaWeb
Select

System Maintenance
>
System Upgrade
Click

Browse
to select the
appropriate
.apkg
file
Click
●
Upload
to transfer the AMC
system package to AlphaCom
Click
●
Install
to start the installation
AlphaCom XE will do an MD5
L
check to verify that the software
package is valid. The MD5 digital
signature is used to hinder possible
virus infections.
Configuration Backup and Restore
11.2
AlphaWeb provides an easy way to back up and restore the running
configuration in the AlphaCom XE.
The procedure will perform a backup of the server database to the PC
as an
.apkgs
file. Previous versions will be overwritten.
Use the System Upgrade menu to restore the
.apkgs
file
