“Heating/cooling”-Controller with PID Behaviour (Split-range Operating)
For a PID-controller with “Heating/cooling”-operation
the Manipulated Variable Y can be requested (outputted)
in three ways.
While the display of the controller has a value range from
-100 up to +100 %, the first of the three outputs
“Manipulated Variable Y” describes the total value range
converted from 0 to 100. A second output “Manipulated
Variable Heating” describes only the positive range and a
third output “Manipulated Variable Cooling” only the
negative range of the displayed control output converted
from 0 to 100.
With a switching distance between heating and cooling a
range can be configured in which the outputs “Heating”
and “Cooling” are simultaneously active (switching
distance negative), or a dead band in which neither
“Heating” nor “Cooling” are switched on (switching
distance positive).
The changeover of PID parameters between heating and
cooling takes place automatically. The working point of a
pure P-controller is positioned exactly between heating
and cooling.
Instead of
linear
PID
controllers for heating and cooling
can be used also
2-point PID
controllers. Beside the
analogue outputs digital signals are outputted thereby as
pulse time modulation.
Heating
or
cooling can also be defined as pure
2-point
controllers respectively.
The switching distance of Split-Range Controller contains a “–“ or “+” as sign, with which an overlapping
ATTENTION
or a dead zone between the “Heating” and “Cooling” outputs can be realized. Compared with the previous
devices (SE-4xx, SE-5xx) this sign can be entered exactly
inverted
!
