10.2.2. Topping up oil diesel engine truck
Topping up oil must be done according the following steps.
1. Open the cover of the left-hand engine cowling (see § 2.4. Engine cowling );
2. Turn off the red cap of the filler neck;
3. Top up dosed oil (see § 14.2. Maintenance specifications diesel engine truck );
4. Wait for a few minutes, so the oil can run down the crankcase;
5. Check the oil level using the dipstick (see § 10.2.1. Checking oil level diesel engine truck );
6. Check if the oil level is between Min and Max ;
7. Insert the dipstick back into the holder;
8. Top up oil, if necessary and repeat item 5 and 6, if necessary);
9. Close the filler neck by using the cap;
10. Close the cover of the engine cowling (see § 2.4. Engine cowling ).

INFORMATION!
When topping up large quantities of oil (e.g. at refreshing the oil), it is recommended
to fill the crankcase by using the filler neck at the right side of the engine
(
Picture 10-5 ). Therefore, remove the left-hand cover plate of the engine cowling.
