Removing the fan
1. Remove the fan by loosening the six screws, so that the poly-V-belt and the toothed belt are
free ( Picture 10-22 );
2. Tilt the fan in such a way, that there is enough space for replacing a new belt:
- Prevent damage to the radiator while tilting the fan.
Replacing toothed belt
1. Loosen the two bolts ( Picture 10-23, A );
2. Relax the toothed belt so it can be removed from the pulleys;
3. Check the rings on the pulleys for damages, rust and grease deposits:
- Replace the rings, if necessary;
4. Check the rings on the pulleys are tightened:
- Check the bolts of the rings at both the front and rear;
5. Mount the new toothed belt and adjust the bolts:
- The toothed belt has to be pressed in about 1.5 to 2 cm with normal effort
(see Picture 10-23, B );
6. Replace the fan and secure it firmly:
- Use a thread sealant (Loctite).
