Replacing fuel pre-filter / water separator
Replacing the fuel pre-filter / water separator (
) must be carried out as mentioned below
(this picture was taken from below).
1. Put a tray under the filter;
2. Let the fuel out of the filter element by opening
drainage plug C
) at the bottom
of the water separator;
3. Remove the
filter element A
) together with the
bottom cover B
by turning it counterclockwise;
4. Remove the filter element from the bottom cover;
5. Clean the bottom cover;
6. Replace the O-ring and grease the new O-ring lightly;
7. Mount a new filter element on the bottom cover and fill with clean diesel;
8. Replace the sealing ring and lightly grease the new ring;
9. Mount the bottom cover together with the filter element on the filter casing:

Tighten the filter element by hand;
10. Vent the fuel system (see
§ 10.4.5. Venting fuel system diesel engine truck
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes;
12. Again tighten the filter element by hand;
13. Check the fuel system for leakage.
CHECK / TEST!
Timely replace the fuel pre-filter / water separator to prevent damage to the fuel
system.

INFORMATION!
When replacing the new filter element, minimize touching the filter.
Touching the filter element may affect the operation of the filter and shorten the
service life.
