Checking oil level transfer case
Shaft 1 (
) is the input shaft and shaft 2 (
) is the output shaft for driving axle 1.
At the rear the output shaft for the driving of driving axle 3 is located.
1. Make sure that the vehicle stands on a flat horizontal surface;
2. Remove
filler
plug 1
from the opening;
3. Remove
level plug 3

4. The oil level must just be under the
level plug 3

If this is not the case, top up oil (
§ 11.3.3. Refreshing oil transfer

5. Let the oil drain;

CAUTION!
In order to avoid measurement errors, the oil level may not be checked immediately
after operating. Measuring with a cold motor is also not correct. It is better to drive
the vehicle for a moment (if the engine is cold) before measuring the oil level.
In this way the oil is spread around the entire transfer case.
The oil temperature must be below 40 °C.
CHECK / TEST!
Check the oil level of the transfer case every 2 months at normal operating
conditions. The oil temperature must be below 40 °C.
