WORKING WITH THE WINCH
The winch is a device, which extends and improves the mower application possibilities. Please keep in mind, it
does not allow the operator to use the mower on all slope inclines.
ANCHORING
For best use of the winch and optimum tension force on the rope, it is necessary to choose a fixed point to which
you can anchor the end of the rope with the carabiner. Attach the rope end (carabiner) to the anchoring element at
a height of approx. 30 cm. Never anchor the rope directly to the ground.
WARNING
Choose a sufficiently firm anchoring point, which can carry the continuous load caused by the mower
as well as possible dynamic effects such as a sudden slip or fall of the mower.
WINCH ANCHORING PROCEDURE
1) Transport the mower to the chosen area and place it on a level ground under the slope you intend to mow,
directly below the anchoring point
2) Turn the mower wheels perpendicular / across to the slope.
3) Make sure the mowing blade is switched off and set the engine speed to minimum.
4) Set the valve lever to position 1 (ON).
5) Slightly deflect the driving joystick on the remote controller in the direction in which the rope starts to
unwind from the drum. From the factory, the winch is pre-set to unwind when the driving joystick is
deflected in the BACKWARD direction (towards the operator). In case the rope winds up instead of
unwinding, deflect the joystick in the opposite direction.
When the drive joystick is only slightly deflected, the mower itself will not move and only the winch will
be driven. This allows you to wind or unwind the rope.
6) Mount the rope around the fixed anchoring point, release the screw lock on the carabine, lock the carabine
to the rope and secure it properly by fastening the screw lock.
7) Deflect the drive joystick in order to wind in the loose rest of the rope. The rope on the winch drum should
be slightly tight.
8) Increase the engine speed from idling to operating revolutions.
9) Turn the wheels of the mower up the slope (FORWARD) and slightly deflect the driving joystick on the
remote controller forward i.e. in the direction when the mower starts driving up the slope. If the rotation of
the wheels of the mower and the direction of the rope winding correspond (i.e. the rope is winding up when
the mower is driving up the slope) you can start mowing. In case the winch rope is unwinding when the
mower is driving up the slope it is necessary to stop driving and turn the wheels by 180 degrees. Then you
can start mowing up the slope.
10) Make sure and constantly check that the rope is properly winded on the drum of the winch and that it is not
lose or tangled. In this case it is prohibited to use the mower on slopes.
SELECT THE ANCHORING POINT SO THAT:
•
there are no objects, trees, bushes, etc. in the area of the mower and rope movement that could be affected or
damaged by the rope or damage the rope
•
the surface of the anchoring point is smooth without sharp edges and the rope with the carabine stays in the
set position for the whole duration of the operation.
•
the anchor point was sufficiently strong See also:
WARNING
The operator is responsible for selecting a suitable anchoring point.
