3.8 HYDRAULIC STABILIZING WINCH
The mower is equipped with an integrated stabilizing hydraulic winch (hereinafter referred to as "winch"), which is
designed as a stabilizing device and improves the mower stability on slope. It also prevents the mower from sliding
downhill and reduces soil erosion.
There must not be any obstacles that could jam or damage the rope
– such as trees, bushes, etc. – in the
operating area between rope and mower.
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO USE THE WINCH
•
If any parts of this equipment are damaged or show considerable wear, e.g.: rope, carabiner, etc.
•
For purposes other than stabilizing the SPIDER XLINER.
•
For removing objects, securing people or objects on a slope.
•
On slopes where there are terrain obstacles and there is a possibility of damaging the rope or getting
caught on a slope.
•
In places where the anchoring point is not strong enough and can be loosened after anchoring and working
with the mower.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•
Always keep the winch and its accessories clean and in good condition. After finishing work, clean it by
sweeping and wiping. Do not use gasoline or similar petroleum products for cleaning.
•
Do not pull / anchor the winch rope over roads, sidewalks, and people's spaces.
•
When working with the winch, select the working position so that you do not move under or directly above
the machine and do not cross the rope path. There is a risk of injury when the machine slips or the operator
may slip and fall under the mower.
•
Use the winch only for stabilization with the engine speed set to maximum.
•
Do not reach into the winding drum with any part of your body in order to straighten the rope. The rope is
wound up along its current position on the winding drum.
•
The carabiner must not strike or be subjected to additional external forces (pull only).
•
Follow the procedure for attaching the winch rope to an anchoring point.
•
The carabiner must always be properly closed (locked) with a locking segment - the carabine can only work
safely with the lock properly tightened.
•
Check the mowing area carefully. Orient yourself, assess the situation and test the possibilities of the
terrain. Do not take chances. It is necessary to inspect the terrain thoroughly before starting work.
•
Work on a slope from the bottom towards the top. You will work, generally, from a lower to a higher incline,
which will give you a better chance to evaluate the climbing ability and make the right decisions concerning
further work. Be aware of the dynamic effects of the mower while mowing, which can cause considerable
strain on the winch rope and anchoring points.
•
If the mower slips, do not try to stop it and do not approach the mower, especially in the area under or
above the mower.
•
Always stand aside while operating, never directly above or below the mower.
•
Before working on a slope, ensure that no one is moving beneath the mower or in the general mowing
area. Do not endanger third parties or property with the machine.
•
Choose your operator's position outside the area where the mower can slide / fall or the mowed grass is
ejected. The direction of the ejected grass may change with respect to the direction of travel during
machine operation.
SAFETY LABELS
The safety labels are placed on the area above the winch. You will find their description and meaning in the
ABOUT THE PRODUCT > SAFETY LABELS
link. Safety labels warn the operator of the risks with the machine.
Respecting their importance implies safe use of the product.
