Installing the Transporter
1.
Identify the bracket hooks on the back of the new transporter carriage
(Figure 9-18) as well as the slots in the bracket on the library’s vertical axis (VAX)
where the hooks rest (Figure 9-19).
2.
If you are working from the front of the library, move the picker on the new
transporter so that it is toward the front of the transporter and in the horizontal
position.
3.
With one hand supporting the weight of the transporter from underneath and your
other hand grasping the right side of the transporter carriage for stability, orient the
transporter with the bracket hooks toward the mounting bracket on the vertical
axis.
Note:
If you are working from the front of the library, it is easiest to use
your left hand to support the transporter.
Caution:
Do not lift the transporter using the picker. It is not designed to
support the weight of the transporter.
