Resetting a QIP

Identifying a Malfunctioning Bus Expansion Module
Although they are installed in the DBAs in the same way as a QIP, the bus expansion
module is a passive device and does not provide any control functions. As a result, it is
not recognized by the library as a controller and is not assigned an identifier. Even
when the bus expansion module is functioning properly, the Controllers screen
indicates that no controller is installed.
A malfunctioning bus expansion is indicated by SCSI bus problems for the drives
connected to the bus expansion module. The bus expansion module seldom
malfunctions and should only be replaced after eliminating all other potential sources
of the SCSI bus problems.
