Importing a Cleaning Cartridge

Import the Cleaning Cartridge
Use the following steps to import a magazine containing one or more cleaning
cartridges into the library.
1.
Note bar code, if any, on the cleaning cartridge. You can use this bar code to locate
the cleaning cartridge after importing it. Place the cartridge into the magazine’s
empty slot.
2.
Insert the magazine containing the cleaning cartridge into the open TAP, making
sure that it is correctly oriented, as shown in Figure 5-5.
The alignment guides on each side of the magazine slide easily into the grooves on
either side of the TAP opening. If the magazine does not slide into place easily,
remove it and reinsert it.
3. Manually raise the TAP door until it latches closed, moving the magazine into the
TAP.
Caution:
Do not use force to close the TAP door.

Select
Continue
in the Feedback Required screen. The transporter retrieves the
magazine from the TAP and moves it to a chamber in the entry/exit pool or the
storage pool (whichever you specified).

Proceed to Cleaning a Tape Drive on page 46.
