Examine Hex Registers
As mentioned previously, pressing the 3 key from the Diagnostic Selection Screen sends the user
to an extremely technical section of the System Diagnostic Unit. This area is called the Examine
Hex Registers Area and its typical display is shown below.

-- Examine Hex Registers Screen --
This function allows the user to inspect the values in the internal registers of the carriage
controller's or safety floor monitor's internal microprocessor. In most cases this readout will be
of little use on its own merits. This area could be very useful, however, if while in conversation
with the factory about some anomaly, they would ask about any of the controller's internal
registers.
As in previous screens, the number of the unit that is being addressed is displayed in the upper
right corner of the screen. The register number, in hexadecimal, along with that register's
particular name is also displayed. The register's value is displayed in both hexadecimal notation
and in binary. The user can select which register is being displayed by pressing the UP or
DOWN keys on the keypad to sequence through all the registers. (Pressing the 1 or 7 keys will
sequence the displayed register by hexadecimal 10). As seen previously, pressing the NEXT or
LAST keys will change between the units being addressed. Pressing the ESCAPE key returns
the user to the Diagnostic Selection screen.
