6-2. Description of Commands

SV1D

SAT Function Check (Servo check command)

Function:

Checks the automatic tracking function automatically.

Operation:

(1) Enter command.

After the title, the following message is then displayed on the screen.

Set YR5-1 (Alignment Tape)

Are you ready (y/n/else=Eject)?

To stop the execution of check, press the N key.

To eject of cassette tape, press a key except Y and N.

(2) Insert alignment tape YR5-1 into this unit.

Do not use tapes other than YR5-1. It is impossible to perform this adjustment properly in this case.

To move the tape address during adjustment start, use the control software of GY-2120. (Refer to Section 1-
10.)

(3) Press the Y key to initiate adjustment. Message “Auto Check Start” is displayed on

the screen.

Press the Y key without inserting a tape to display the message again.

Message “(Tape end detected)” is displayed on the screen, rewind the tape to tape top, then check again.

(4) Message “Check Complete” is displayed on the screen when the check succeeds.

Message “# Abnormal Ended #” is displayed on the screen when the check fails. For

the failure of check, refer to In Case of NG on this page.

Check the following circuits.

REC head PB circuit (EQ-66 board)

Automatic tracking control circuit (Servo system on the MA-83 board)

Replace the drum assembly. (Refer to Section 3.)

When “# SAT Trouble #” is displayed:

Confirm that the playback tape is alignment tape YR5-1.

Readjust the servo adjustment commands (SV01, SV0A, and SV0B).

Check the following circuits.

REC head PB circuit (EQ-66 board)

Automatic tracking control circuit (Servo system on the MA-83 board)
