EQM Control Model
Troubleshooting
Heater Will Not Fire:
•
Check to make sure all EQM settings are set properly.
•
Check if heater gas shut off valve is open.
•
Check heater regulator to determine a gas flow is available.
•
Check high limit switch to be sure they are closed. Use a voltage meter, set on continuity, to be sure the
high limit is working properly.
•
Check EQM if Red light is on.
•
Check EQM if Green light is flashing indicating a WIFI signal
Heater Fires But Does Not Cycle Off or Has A Long Cycle:
•
See Sioux Steel
Caution: Bleed fuel lines before servicing unit. The procedures outlined below are for use only by qualified
service personnel. Use caution when checking electrical components.
Heater will not power up
(see electrical schematic pg 51)
•
Confirm incoming power, which should be interlocked with fan, is present. Open up fan control panel and
be sure fan and heater have been interlocked together.
•
Confirm heaters 120vac peripherals are working correctly. Connect one lead of voltmeter to neutral at
24vdc Power Supply (Note: Volt meter must be set to AC). This will remain connected throughout
procedure.
o
Check high-limit: Connect one lead of volt meter to “L” and the other lead to “N” on 24vdc
power supply. If no voltage is read high-limit is not working correctly and will need to be
replaced.
o
Check EQM: Connect lead to NO on EQM. If no voltage is read, check wire connections between
24vdc Power Supply and EQM. Replace wire if needed.
o
Check Fenwal Control: Connect lead to L1 on Fenwal. If no voltage is read, check wire
connections between Fenwal Control and EQM. Replace wire if needed.
If after replacing wire and power is still not present at L1, the EQM board will need to be
replaced.
o
Check Solenoid: Connect lead to V1 on Fenwal. If no voltage is read, Fenwal board (S224343)
may need to be replaced.
o
Check Fenwal Control N: Take a continuity test between L2 on Fenwal and N. Replace wire if
needed.
•
Confirm heaters 24vdc peripherals are working correctly. Connect one lead of voltmeter to V- on 24vdc
Power Supply (Note: Volt meter must be set to DC). This will remain connected throughout procedure.
