Description
Catch monitoring sensors are delivered
from Kongsberg Maritime AS readily set
up with common default settings. When
required, each individual sensor may be
configured to specify its communication
channel and which measurements to
make. This is specially important if you
wish to use several sensors to operate on
different communication channels. This
is also important to avoid interference if
several vessels equipped with identical
catch monitoring systems are operating
simultaneously in the same area.
Sensor configuration is normally performed
by authorized Kongsberg Maritime AS
technicians. However, individual with basic
computer skills and access to the necessary equipment should not find it difficult. You need
a special interface unit or cable to do the configuration task yourself.
Note
The TV80only allows you to configure PX sensors. If you wish to use older sensors (not PX
family), these must be configured using their dedicated applications before you add them.
The
Add New Sensor
dialog box starts a "wizard" to add a new catch monitoring sensor to
your TV80 system. Depending on your initial choice, different routes are presented. In the
first dialog box, the following options are provided.

if you have a new sensor that needs to be configured before use.
The new sensor must be connected to the Processor Unit with a dedicated interface unit
or cable. Dedicated dialog boxes are provided to configure the new sensor.

if you have a new sensor that does not need to be configured before use. The
next dialog box in the "wizard" allows you to choose which sensor type to add.
Once you have chosen the sensor you wish to use, you can place it on the fishing gear.
The
Select Sensors
dialog box is used to select which sensors to use, define the frequency
channels you wish to receive the information on, and how often this information shall
be received (update rate).
