Power Supply Unit description

A dedicated Power Supply Unit is provided with the SC90. The purpose of the Power
Supply Unit is to provide the SC90 Transceiver Unit with the necessary DC power
for operation.

The Power Supply Unit is mounted on the bulkhead
in the vicinity of the Transceiver Unit. The physical
distance between the Transceiver Unit and the Power
Supply Unit is limited by the length of the Ethernet
and power cables.

The Power Supply Unit is controlled by the SC90
software on the Processor Unit.

The Power Supply Unit control interface is made using
a a high quality Ethernet cable to the Transceiver Unit.
A dedicated power cable is used to connect the DC
power from the Power Supply Unit to the Transceiver
Unit.

The cooling fins on the top of the Power Supply Unit cabinet are very warm during
normal operation.

WARNING

The Power Supply Unit contains high voltages. Unless required for maintenance
purposes, do not open the cabinet door while the SC90 is switched on.

Hull unit description

The hull unit provided with the SC90 is designed to lower the transducer down below the
ship’s hull when the SC90 shall be used. When the SC90 is switched off, the transducer
is hoisted for protection.

The hull unit is designed to lower the transducer 1.0 or 2.1 meters below the ship’s
hull. Maximum vessel speed with the transducer fully lowered to 1 meter is 20 knots.
Maximum vessel speed with the transducer fully lowered to 2.1 meter is 19 knots.
