Note

Serial line 1 (COM1) is used to communicate with the Operating Panel.

Context

Whenever more than one hydroacoustic system is installed on a vessel, interference may
occur. To avoid this, you have these options:

• The systems are all connected to a common synchronization system.

• One of the acoustic systems is set up as "master", and controls the transmissions on

the other systems.

Procedure

1

Open the

Installation

menu.

Select the

Setup

tab to open the menu.

Select

Test

on the

Setup

menu to open the

System Test

menu.

c

Select

Installation menu

to open the menu.

d

Observe that the

Installation

menu opens

across the top of the SC90 presentation.

Select

I/O Setup

→

External Sync

to open the

Sync

Port Configuration

parameter dialog box.

Choose which serial port you have used to connect
the external synchronization system.

Select

OK

to save the settings and close the parameter dialog box.

On the

System Test

menu, select

Installation Menu

to close the menu.

Selecting synchronization mode

If you wish to use the SC90 as a master or slave in a synchronized system, you must set
it up for such operation. To do this, you must select which communication port to use for
the synchronization interface, and you must select the requested synchronization mode.

Prerequisites

Neither tools nor instruments are required. The SC90 is turned on, and it is working
normally.

• For "slave" operation, a remote system (for example

K-Sync

) must be available to

provide trigger pulses.

• For "master" operation, a remote system must be connected. This remote system

must be set up in "slave" mode.

The communication port on the Processor Unit is selected.
