TACSI connection/IMD connection
Data transmission between the SIM in the system unit and the TAKs is half duplex
using the AFP 2-wire method. The HDLC protocol is employed.
The transmission speed on the AFP 2-wire bus is 187.5 Kbit/s.
TAK (terminal attachment concentrator)
The TAK is an external concentrator module connected in front of the terminal devices.
It provides a maximum of four interfaces for peripherals. The interfaces may be SS97 or
V.24. Two TAKs can be connected to an AFP 2-wire bus; in other words, four TAKs can
be connected per SIM.
Up to two 97808 graphics terminals may be connected to each TAK. It is not possible
to connect the console to a TAK.
The V.24 interface of the TAK is not modem-compatible.
Each TAK is connected to a telephone line and to the power supply (110/240V).
The terminal devices attached to a TAK and the TAK itself must be connected to
the same power distributor.
IMD (inhouse Multiplexer Data transmission method)
The terminal devices are attached via dedicated 2-wire connections within the PABX
network.
The IMD connection units are connected after the I/O processors of the MX300. Up to
two SS97 interfaces can be multiplexed. Data transmission is DC isolated. The
transmission rate and the code used must be set separately for each channel.
The rate can be set in the range from 4.8 to 38.4 Kbit/s.
IMD comprises the following components:
- IMD connection unit in the system unit
- data network
- external module (for connection of one or two terminal devices)
