Preset
The preset function permits automation of initialization of stacker crane and other rail-
bound vehicles during maintenance, commissioning or exchange. During initialization, the
desired output value is set in a defined position (initialization position) (preset value).
Depending on device version, there are the following options to perform a preset:
1) Static preset: Triggered via multifunctional input MF1 (versions DME5000-xx1, -xx3,
-xx4, -xx7)
Procedure:
Set parameter "MF1/Function" to "Preset" and enter desired preset value.
Move vehicle to initialization position and activate MF1, e.g. via proximity initiator,
photoelectric switch or switch.
The DME5000 output value accordingly corresponds to the entered preset value at the
initialization position.
For version DME5000-xx1, observe that no negative measured values are generated
(negative values lead to measured value "0" in SSI-output).
For version DME5000-xx3, the preset can alternatively be set via a RS-422 command.
2) Static preset: Triggered via multifunctional input MF1
(version DME5000-xx2, when using the GSD module "Class 2", "4 byte in/out")
Procedure:
Set GSD parameter "Preset mode" to "Preset mode".
Set GSD parameter "MF1 Function" to "Preset" and enter desired preset value in GSD
parameter "Preset (steps)" (preset value unit corresponds to setting of the parameter
"Resolution").
Move vehicle to initialization position and activate MF1, e.g. via proximity initiator,
photoelectric switch or switch.
The DME5000 output value accordingly corresponds to the entered preset value at the
initialization position.
3) Dynamic programme-controlled preset: Triggered via PROFIBUS interface (version
DME5000-xx2, when using the GSD module "Class 2", "4 byte in/out")
Procedure:
Set GSD parameter "Preset mode" to "Preset mode".
Send desired preset value to the DME5000 via bit 0 … 24 of the output data (preset
value unit corresponds to setting of the parameter "Resolution").
To trigger the preset, activate bit 31 in the output data; this bit can originate, e .g. with a
proximity initiator, photoelectric switch or switch at the initialization position.
The DME5000 output value accordingly corresponds to the entered preset value at the
initialization position.
For more information, see section 13.2, "PROFIBUS Interface".
