If a quick clamp knob is fastened too tightly, it may end up spinning freely, and
there is a risk of damage to the quick clamp knob and the perpendicular bolt.
Tighten it only until the filter case makes contact with the filter stopper.
If a quick clamp knob ends up spinning freely even if it is not overly tightened, check that
the filter case is mounted properly on the hopper. It cannot be tightened properly if a
piece of packing rubber attached to the hopper has become entrained. Also, if only one
side is tightened securely, the other screws may end up spinning freely. Thoroughly
tighten all four sides.
Be sure that a filter is in place before operating the sampler. There is a risk that the
internal blower will breakdown with direct air intake.
Attaching the Filter Case
Ensure that a filter is mounted in the filter case. Then put the filter case to the hopper.
Mount washers on the perpendicular bolts. Then attach the quick clamp knobs and fasten
them.
A variety of particle size selectors or the Andersen sampler AH-600 can be installed in place of
the filter case.
