2. Needle bearing and bearings inside the pivot shaft
1) Replace the needle bearings if they show signs of
wear or damage.
2) Replace bearings if they show signs of abnormal
noise or rattling.
3. Thrust washers and seals on the motor gasket
1) Replace thrust washers and seals if they show signs
of wear or damage.
2) Pay careful attention to the correct orientation of the
oil seal when replacing it.
[The lip should face downward.]
Perform assembly by following the disassembly
procedure in reverse order.
* Apply a sufficient amount of grease after assembly
is complete.
1. After tightening the shaft end nuts on the pivot shaft,
tighten them so that the end of the front axle swings at
147 to 157N

m (15 to 16kgf
⋅
m).
2. Tie rod adjustment and tightening torque
1) Adjust the toe-in angle by extending and contracting
the tie rod.
CAUTION:
During assembly, be aware that the one-side
shield type needle bearing should be at the
front.
[The shield should face front.]
When replacing the oil seal , pay careful
attention to its orientation.
[The lip should face inward.]
CAUTION:
Assemble these parts so that the R on the
bottom thrust washer faces downward.
