8. Use a precision driver to remove the backup ring.
1. Insert the backup ring into the seal case.
2. Insert the X-ring into the seal case.

CAUTION:
Use #600 sandpaper to remove damage and
scratches from each part.
Wash each part, and blow dry with compressed
air.

CAUTION:
1. Apply a thin layer of grease to the sliding part of
the X-ring.
2. Be careful to avoid applying too much grease.
Otherwise, it might be mistaken as an oil leak.
CAUTION:
The positioning of the X-ring and backup ring in
relation to the flange is shown in the figure on the
right.
