6. Cardin shaft and intermediate plate
1) Pull out the Cardin shaft .
2) Remove the intermediate plate .
7. Taper shaft
1) Turn over the bearing housing, and then use a
hydraulic press to pull the shaft and taper
bearing out of the housing, together as a single
unit.
2) Pull the shaft seal and dust seal out of the
bearing housing, and assemble them in the
orientation shown in the figure on the right.

CAUTION:
1. Pay careful attention to the orientation of the
seal ring in the intermediate plate when
replacing it.
(See the figure on the right.)
2. If there is a difference in level between the rotor
and the contact surface, replace it with the
motor assembly.

CAUTION:
Apply grease to seals before assembly.
