26. MAGNETIC CARD READER (MCR)
26-1. OUTLINES
Targets are the UP-E12MR and the UP-E12MR2.
2ch MCR interface allows simultaneous read.
Each channel includes 96Byte FIFO.
26-2. CARD READ OPERATION
The MCR interface enters the stand-by state for card read when the fol-
lowing setup is made by the main CPU.
Mode set: Set to the mode corresponding to the card standard (JBA/
ABA/IATA) to be handled.
Start mark set: Set to the start mark corresponding to each card stan-
dard.
Interruption reset: Since the card cannot be read under the active state
of interruption, interruption is reset.
When the card is scanned, the MCR I/F converts serial data input from
MCR into parallel data. The converted data are written into the FIFO
buffer character by character in the sequence of Start Mark to LRC. The
FIFO buffer has the capacity of 96Byte. The number of characters of
the card corresponding to each standard is as shown below:
One FIFO is provided for each of two channel interfaces, and simulta-
neous read is allowed in the MCR connection corresponding to JBA/
ABA or IATA/ABA.
When card scan is completed, the MCR interface interruption is made
active.
The main CPU reads the card data taken in interruption process from
the FIFO buffer. Read from the main CPU is allowed by IN command of
No Wait.
Even after reading the last character LCR, the FIFO buffer has 10 - 20
characters of “0”. Therefore, when the last data LCR is read, the FIFO
should be reset before making the next card Read Enable.
In the MCR interface, the next cars is not read until the interruption is
reset from the main CPU.
27. SERIAL PORT
27-1. OUTLINES
D-SUB 9pin Connector COM1 and COM2 are standard provisions.
In addition, 1 channel of RJ-45 8pin Connector COM port is provided.
To 5V power, CI signal of COM1/COM2 and +5V power can be
switched.
