E. REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE ELEMENT [20] SUSCEPTIBILITY TO CHEMICAL ATTACK:
CAUTION: Do Not expose the Sea Recovery System to intake Feed Water containing:
Hydrogen peroxide chloramines chloramines-T N-chlorioisocyanurates
Chlorine dioxide hypochlorite chlorine iodine
Bromine Bromide phenolic disinfectants petroleum products
Any chemical, not approved in writing by Sea Recovery .
USE OF NON-AUTHORIZED OR MISUSE OF AUTHORIZED CHEMICALS VOIDS SYSTEM WARRANTY . Do not
connect any water line to the System that may contain any of the above listed chemicals. Example: Do not
connect the inlet of the System to the ship’s potable water system if the system contains chlorinated or brominated
water. These chemicals destroy the copolymer components within the system. These oxidants and others also
damage the R.O. Membrane Element [20]. The Sea Recovery Optional Fresh Water Flush Accessory [33-
35]removes chlorine and bromine from the ship’s potable water system.
NOTE: Sea Recovery has an OEM policy wherein the R.O. Membrane Element is not shipped until the System is
actually ready to be commissioned for the first time. This allows Sea Recovery to extend the warranty from the
Date of Shipment to the Date of Commissioning. Therefore, some Sea Recovery Systems are, at the original
buyer’s request, shipped without the R.O. Membrane Element installed within the Pressure Vessel. Lack of
communication from the original buyer (for example a Boat Builder) to the Installer, to the person commissioning
the system, and finally to the End User can cause wasted time, added expenses, and grief if these intermediary
people are not informed by the original buyer that the Sea Recovery System was shipped without the R.O.
Membrane Element installed within the Pressure Vessel.
F. COMPONENTS SUPPLIED BY INSTALLER OR OWNER:
CAUTION: All fittings, valving, and piping installed prior to, within, and after the Sea Recovery System must not
contain iron, they must be non-ferrous material (not containing iron). Iron fittings or piping will cause rust fouling
and failure of the R.O. Membrane Element [20]. The resulting failure of the R.O. Membrane Element [20] is
attributed to improper installation, is the liability of the installer, and is not covered by the Sea Recovery
warranty.
1. Water Connections for Ultra Whisper hook up to be supplied by the installer:
Feed Inlet [1]: 1/2” MNPT Male National Pipe Thread U.S. Standard
Brine Discharge[23]: 1/2” MNPT Male National Pipe Thread U.S. Standard
Product [32]: 1/4” FNPT Female National Pipe Thread U.S. Standard
2. Inlet Thru Hull Fitting with Forward Facing Scoop [1]. The inlet Thru Hull Fitting must be dedicated to only
the Sea Recovery System. It is important that the installer utilizes a forward facing scoop so that the system
receives a positive flow of water as the boat is under way. The fitting must be installed on the boats hull in a
position that provides continual feed water flow without air to the System.
CAUTION: A flush inlet thru-hull fitting will cause a vacuum as the boat is under way and this will cause loss
of feed water flow and cavitation of the Feed Pump [6] resulting in continual System shut down due to low
feed water flow and low pressure. Install a “forward facing scoop” type thru hull inlet fitting.
CAUTION: The Sea Recovery System must receive an uninterrupted supply of feed water without air. If the
thru-hull fitting is placed in a position on the underside of the hull that allows air to continually enter the thru-
hull fitting this will cause the system to continually shut down due to loss of feed water.
