Hardware Installation and Reference Guide
Preparation before Installation
The temperate and humidity requirements of Ruijie routers are as follows:
Temperature: 0°C – 40°C
Relative humidity: 10% – 90% (non-condensing)
The ambient temperature and humidity refer to the values measured at the place 1.5 m above the floor
and 0.4 m in the front of the router rack without protective boards.
Cleanness Requirements
Dusts are a killer to the normal operation of routers. Dusts fallen on routers will cause electrostatic attraction and poor
wire contact, resulting in shorter equipment life and communication fault. The electrostatic attraction is easier to occur
when the relative humility is low.
The following table gives Ruijie routers' requirements on dusts density and diameter in equipment room.

The dust screen can effectively prevent dust from entering into equipments. However, dust will be
attached on the dust screen, which will block air ducts and affect the usage of equipments. It is
recommended to invite professionals to clear the dust screen periodically for clear air ducts.
Besides dusts, routers also have strict requirements on salt, acid and sulfide contents in the air in the equipment room.
These gases will speed the erosion and aging of metals and parts. The following table gives the limitations on the
harmful gases of SO2, H2S, NO2, NH3, and Cl2.
