8.7 Interrupter Timer
The Interrupter Timer is designed to increase the valve operating time by periodically inhibiting
movement of the unit. This can be used to reduce the effects of hydraulic shock “water hammer” in the
process pipeline.
8.7.1 Interrupter Timer
Enable or disable the Interrupter Timer function.
8.7.2 Interrupter Timer Direction
This setting dictates which direction the Interrupter Timer will function.
Closing: The Interrupter Timer will only be active in the close direction.
Opening: The Interrupter Timer will only be active in the open direction.
8.7.3 Interrupter Timer Start (%)
Specify the valve position that timed operation will begin, the available range is 0% to 100% at 1%
increments.
8.7.4 Interrupter Timer Stop (%)
Specify the valve position that timed operation will stop, the available range is 0% to 100% at 1%
increments.
8.7.5 Interrupter Timer Interval
Specify the setting units for the Interrupter Timer on and off times. The available options are:
Seconds: The values associated to 8.7.6 and 8.7.7 will be in seconds.
Milliseconds:
The values associated to 8.7.6 and 8.7.7 will be in milliseconds.
8.7.6 Interrupter Timer On Time
The set time for the movement period during timed operation. Configurable from 1 to 99.
8.7.7 Interrupter Timer Off Time
The set time for the inhibited period during timed operation. Configurable from 1 to 99.
8.7.8 Interrupter Timer with ESD Enabled
This setting will enable or disable the Interrupter Timer during an ESD action.
No: The ESD action will override the Interrupter Timer and operate at full actuator speed.
Yes: The ESD action will operate with the Interrupter Timer settings inhibiting movement.
