FA ROTEX ESU - 07/2008
Adjusting the control to the unit type
Preinstalled controls are adjusted to the ROTEX boiler at the factory. If you have purchased your control as an accessory or a
spare part for your boiler, it must then be set in accordance with the relevant unit type.
1.
Set the "Default settings" rotary switch to
.
2.
Switch the heat generator on.
Î
The display shows "OIL".
3.
Select the unit type ESU using the
key on the main unit.
4.
Press the
key on the central unit to confirm your selection.
5.
The ROTEX ESU checks whether all sensors required for normal operating mode and other optional sensors are connected
(see Table 4-1).
Î
If a sensor required for normal operation is missing, the ROTEX control system ALPHA
+
23R reports a sensor failure
and terminates operation.
Fault correction:
• Use the displayed fault code to determine which sensor the fault relates to (see Chapter 10 "x Faults and malfunctions").
• Reset the fault signal with RESET: Press the
key and hold it down for longer than 3 s.
• Switch the heat generator off.
• Check that the sensor is working (see Chapter 12, Table 12-6) and that it is properly connected.
• Switch the heat generator on.
Î
If the failure is displayed again, replace the sensor or the sensor cable.
Î
If all sensors required for operation have been detected and are free of faults, the system runs in the set operating mode
(depending on the position of the "Selection of operating mode" rotary switch, see 6.2).
6.
Set the time and weekday (see section 6.5.5).
7.
Now adjust the system parameters to the requirements of the heating system according to Table 6-7 and Table 6-8
(see Chapter 6.6.2, page 43).
You only adjust the control to the unit type during initial start-up. If you set the wrong unit type by mistake,
you can correct your entry by changing parameter [1] in Table 6-7 in Chapter 6.6 "System parameters".
Information on the detected sensors is initially stored in the temporary memory. Once the control has been
operational for over 24 hours (changeover from one day to the next) and no sensors have been connected or
disconnected during this period, the existing sensor configuration is permanently stored in the memory.
