6.1 Overview
The electronic, digital control system ROTEX ALPHA
+
23R automatically controls all heater-, and warm water functions for the
direct heater circuit, an optionally connectable mixed heating circuit and a storage load circuit.
The ROTEX ALPHA
+
23R contains:
– A clock timer with three switching time programmes per heating circuit, one of which can be individually customised
– A frost protection function for all heating circuits
– An integrated PC interface (COM socket) for targeted fault diagnosis
6.2 Control elements

23R is a constituent part of the boiler control panel. Therefore, in this section of the
manual only the functions of the control unit and not those of the boiler control panel are explained. Further
information on the boiler control panel can be found in Chapter 5.

STANDBY Frost-protected shutdown of heating and hot water.
REDUCED Continuous reduced heating mode without time restriction — hot water reduced mode.
HEATING Continuous heating mode without time restriction — hot water normal operating mode.
SUMMER Hot water mode, heating shut down with frost protection.
AUTOMATIC I
Automatic heating and economy mode according to "Out at work" switching time
programme (can be set separately).
AUTOMATIC II
Automatic heating and economy mode according to "Family" switching time
programme.
AUTOMATIC III Automatic heating and economy mode according to switching time programme "Solar".
