1.4 ERASE LAMP AND POTENTIAL SENSOR

1. Use water to clean the erase lamp unit and then use a dry soft cloth.

2. After cleaning the erase lamp unit, rub it lightly with your finger to

discharge any static electricity on the surface.

3. Use only a soft dry cloth to clean the potential sensor and the drum

thermistor.

1.5 DEVELOPMENT UNIT

1. When removing and installing the development unit, make sure that the

main switch of the copier is turned off. The development motor will start
turning when the development unit is installed in toner end or toner near
end condition.

2. Be careful not to nick or scratch the development roller sleeve.

3. Place the development unit on a sheet of paper after removing it from the

copier. This prevents any small metal objects (staple, clips, E-rings, etc.)
from being attracted to the development roller and getting inside the unit.

4. The doctor plate must not be removed in the field. It is fixed by precisely

adjusting the doctor gap at the factory.

5. Do not loosen any screws with white paint. They are fixed at the factory

using special tools.

6. Never load different types of developer and toner into the development

unit. Doing so will cause poor copy quality and toner scattering.

7. When the harness or the lead wires on the unit have been removed or

shifted for unit maintenance, make sure that they are correctly positioned
and not touching any gears when reassembling.

8. Do not put any developer in the toner tank. Even a small amount of

developer interferes with the toner near end sensor function and causes a
service call condition.

9. Do not apply any grease to the drive gears of the development unit.
