If the elevator unit is slanted in relation to the wing, check first, if the wing
is fixed gap-free on both sides at the fuselage.
If despite a correct wing assembly, the elevator unit is still visibly slanted
, then unscrew it again.
Slight incorrect positions can be corrected by sanding carefully the side
of the contact area (5) that is too high with a fine sand paper. Remove
very little material only and work step by step for an optimal fit.
If necessary, you can correct a bigger slanted position of the elevator
unit in relation to the wing by applying small adhesive tapes (6) on the
side that is too low.
Once the elevator unit is perfectly parallel to the wing, check the orientation
to the tip of the fuselage. As when measuring the wing, both distances A
and B must be of equal length.
g) Linkage of the elevator
In order to maintain a smooth-running elevator linkage, it is necessary to
unwind the bowden control wire slightly. To that effect, use two small
tongs and arrange the kinks in the wire (1) in a way that allows the clevis
(2) to go up on the rudder horn (3) in a straight line from the front so that
it can be hooked it tension-free in the second hole (from the outside).
