17. 8 Coolin g Coil(s)
An ann u al inspection of the coil(s) m u st b e made to ins u re proper operation.
For the most part coils req u ire v ery little maintenance, ho w e v er if the applica-
tion is extremely dirty or d u sty, it may b ecome necessary to periodically clean
the coil(s). High press u re w ater (700 psi or less) can b e u sed to clean coils
w ith fins at least 0.0095 inches thick.
IMPORTANT: Test the spray press u re on a small area of the coil(s) to see
ho w w ell the fins w ithstand the high press u re.
Spray in the direction opposite of airflo w to p u sh dirt o u t the front of the coil.
Foaming chemical sprays and w ashes are a v aila b le and sho u ld b e u sed
instead of high press u re on the more fragile fins or w hen high fin density does
not facilitate high press u re w ater cleaning.
