User Manual 3153
Using The Instrument 3-13
Selecting the
Reference Oscillator
Use the following command to select the reference oscillator source for
the synthesizer circuit:
ROSCillator:SOURce {CLK10 | EXTernal }
CLK10 is the standard reference for the Model 3153. EXT connects the
front panel reference input to the main clock circuit. The frequency of
the reference oscillator is always 10MHz however, since CLK10 is
accurate to within 100 ppm only, the accuracy and stability of the Model
3153 may be improved by applying an external reference to the front
panel input.
The query:
ROSCillator:SOURce?
queries the reference oscillator source and returns either CLK10, or
EXT.
Programming the
Output Amplitude
and Offset
Use the following command to program the peak-to-peak amplitude of
the generated waveform:
VOLTage {<amplitude>|MINimum|MAXimum}.
MIN selects the smallest possible amplitude. MAX selects the largest
possible amplitude. The default amplitude is 5.00V (into 50
Ω
).
The query:
VOLTage?
queries the output amplitude and returns a value in volts.
The command:
VOLTage:OFFSet <offset>
sets the offset. The default offset is 0V.
The query:
VOLTage:OFFSet?
queries the output offset and returns a value in volts.
