– Legacy Binary Protocol Notes
This information is intended for transmitter owners considering the use of Quasonix transmitter binary protocol.
Check with Quasonix to see which version of binary protocol is supported by your transmitter.
11.1 Known Limitations of Binary Protocol < V1.005
These items are supported by the Quasonix legacy transmitter but NOT by the (old) version of binary protocol on
the transmitter:
•
Automatic Carrier Output – AC command is not supported (even with the AC option)
•
Convolutional Encoding – CC command is not supported (even with the CE option)
•
Clock Polarity – CP command does not support Auto, only 0 and 1; also if CP was set to A using Terminal,
the only way to change the setting to 0 or 1 is also via Terminal
•
Clock Free Bit Rate – BR command is not supported
•
Clock Free – CF option is not supported
•
Customer number – No way to return it using binary protocol
•
Frequency Step – FS command is not implemented
•
High Power – HP command is not supported (even with DP option)
•
Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) – LD option is not supported
•
Low Power – LP command is not supported (even with the DP option)
•
Model number – Not implemented, no way to return it using binary protocol
•
Modulation Scaling – MS command is not supported (even with the MS option)
•
NRZ-M Conversion – MC command is not supported (even with the CE option)
•
Overtemperature Control – OC command is not supported
•
Recall Setup – RC command is not supported
•
RF On/Off Pin Polarity – RZ command is not supported
•
Version – VE command is not supported; On “Bad Tag” message, assume < V1.005
•
Missing Option notification – Not supported
11.2 Items Not Supported By the Legacy Transmitter
•
Extended LDPC – LD6 option is not supported
•
CCSDS Randomizer – RA 2 command when LD is enabled is not supported
•
Detected Bit Rate – Not supported
•
Over the Air Bit Rate – Not supported
•
PA Voltage or Current – No provision for returning this data
