M506 UT-112 Installation and Programming
Install the UT-112 Scrambler Board
Open the front of the radio as shown below. Install the board in the open connector behind the left
ribbon cable.
IMPORTANT:
If the scrambler board is not installed, none of the scrambler menu items will appear on
the Display.
Assign a Scrambler Key
Note: All functions selected by the Dial can be selected by the Front Panel arrow keys.
1.
From the Front Panel, Press the
MENU
key.
2.
Rotate the Dial until
CONFIG
appears.
3.
Press the Softkey under
CONFIG
.
4.
Rotate the Dial to highlight
KEY ASSIGNMENT
.
5.
Press the Dial to select the desired Softkey.
6.
Rotate the Dial to highlight
SCBL
; then press the Dial (or
ENT
) to enter.
Entering Scrambler Codes
There are 32 codes available for scrambling. In order to understand each other, all radios in your group
must have the same scrambler code.
Note: The scrambler is automatically disabled when channels 16 or 70 are selected.
1.
From the Front Panel, Press the
MENU
key.
2.
Rotate the Dial until
RADIO SET
appears.
3.
Press the Softkey under
RADIO SET
.
4.
Rotate the Dial to highlight
Voice Scrambler
; then press the Dial (or
ENT
) to enter.
