The rate shown is the rate determined by the bit sync looking at the data input.
Instead of using the automatic setting, the next example uses a manually set clock free data rate:

Since BR is set to a fixed rate, the displayed rate
is
the fixed rate. There could be garbage if the manually set fixed
rate does not match the actual incoming data rate.
Next, assume the transmitter is NOT in clock free mode:
1>CF 1
CF Disable set to 1 (Normal)
1>BR A
CF Bitrate Mode set to Auto
1>BR
CF Bitrate Mode currently Auto
CF Bitrate currently 7.700 Mbps (CF Operation NOT Enabled)
Since the current setting is BR Auto, the rate shown is what would be used (as determined by the measured data
input) if clock free were enabled.
If BR is set to a fixed value and clock free is disabled:
1>BR 6.1
CF Bitrate set to 6.100 Mbps fixed
1>BR
CF Bitrate currently 6.100 Mbps (CF Operation NOT Enabled)
This example set BR to a fixed rate, but since clock free is not enabled, it is not used.
