Copy
/etc/samba/smb.conf.default
to
/etc/samba/smb.conf
.

In the
/etc/samba/smb.conf
file:

Look for and remove any extraneous shares such as [homes] and
[printers]

In the [
global
] section:
i) Set the
load printers
option to
no
.
ii) Comment out the “log file” directive.
iii) Add the following:
server signing = auto
iv) Add the following to suppress the editing of permissions via
the ACL interface on CIFS clients.
nt acl support = no
v) Change the server string directive as follows:
server string = Quantum Lattus A10
vi) Add the following to have logs go only to the Samba
standard log files (to be consistent with the behavior of the
Centrify install for full Active Directory support):
