The Operation page provides the operator with the commands needed to use the
library. It contains commands to: move cartridges, load or unload tape drives, clea
e handler. It also provides Quick Operation buttons to
allow for the I/O ports to be quickly opened and closed and the handler to be parked.
igure 10-1 shows a library with the Handler (H), five tape drives (T1 – T5) with left
and right storage matrices (MAGL and MAGR). The left and right I/O ports are
represented by IOL and IOR.
Figure 10-2 shows two libraries that have been interconnected with the FastPass
elevator expansion option. Note that in this example the upper and lower libraries are
represented by a 1 and 2 placed in front of the Handler, tape drives, storage matrices
and I/O ports. Additionally the elevator (E1) is represented in both of the libraries.
