Validation Methods for DCB
and FCoE
Validation Step 1—Verify PFC and ETS
Parameters
Verify the interoperability of the unified fabric devices by capturing the DCBX
exchanges between the QLogic initiator and each target.
The key parameters to verify are:
DCBX version used by each network component
Priorities assigned to each protocol
Priorities with the per PFC enabled
Bandwidth assigned to each priority
Validation Process
1.
Place the Analyzer into the two paths shown as in
Figure 5-1
.

Configure the two Analyzer port pairs to be in the same time domain to
monitor DCBX exchanges between the two links.

Configure the Analyzer TraceControl to capture LLDP frames (
Figure 5-2
):
