3. Transport
3.1. Safety precautions for transport
Bear in mind that the cabinets are heavy; a minimum of 2 persons are required to
transport them.
Important:
The transport locks in the door joints must not be removed until the
cabinets reach the place of use!
Type SST 12/20 F90 and SST 11/6 F90 safety cabinets as well as type SST-
LI 12/20 F90 and SST-LI 11/6 F90:
The transport lock in the rear wall must not be removed until the cabinets
reach the place of use!
You must remove this lock to ensure that the doors are locked in case of
fire.
The PROTECTO safety cabinet may only be lifted for transport using suitable
means, which should be attached to the underside; it must always be transported
upright. Be careful not to tilt it during lifting or transport. Tilting could damage the
cabinet and impair or destroy the functionality of the built-in safety
features. The cabinet should be set down again gently at the place of
use. All floor standing cabinets are shipped with a base and can be
lifted by the door after removing the base panels.
The 600 mm wide floor standing cabinet can only be lifted using an industrial truck
with a fork. There is a risk of toppling over if the cabinet is handled incorrectly. The
base panels should be secured to the cabinet again after reaching the place of use
because they are essential for fire protection. Without them, the cabinet’s fire
integrity will be compromised and the approval will cease to be valid.
