CHANGING THE PLAY SPEED

Tempo adjustment
Slide the TEMPO adjust slider forward or back.
When moved towa r d the f r ont (+), the tem p o becomes faste r ,
and when moved away f r om you towa r d the r ea r (–), the tem p o
becomes slowe r .
• The amount (%) of tem p o change is shown in the dis p lay.
• The tem p o of the p iece can be changed even while
maintaining the same musical p itch; see “APPLYING A
MASTER TEMPO”.
 Pitch bend
P r ess the PITCH BEND (+) button to inc r ease the p layback
s p eed, and pr ess the (–) button to slow the p layback s p eed.

Selecting a tempo adjust range
Press the TEMPO control range button.
Each time the button is pr essed, the va r iable r ange of the
TEMPO
adjust slide r changes (±6 %/±10 %/±16 %/WIDE).
When set to a va r iable r ange of ±6 %, the tem p o changes in
inc r ements of 0.02 %. When set to ±10 % and ±16 %, the
tem p o changes in inc r ements of 0.05 %. When set to WIDE,
the tem p o can be changed in inc r ements of 0.5 %.
APPLYING A MASTER TEMPO
During playback, press the MASTER TEMPO button.
• The button indicato r (
MT
) will light; when the
TEMPO
adjust
slide r is used to adjust the s p eed (tem p o), the p itch of the music
will r emain unchanged.
• The sound quality will change due to the digital pr ocessing of
the audio.
SETTING CUE POINTS
By setting a cue p oint in memo r y, you can set the t r ack to cue
standby instantly me r ely by pr essing the
CUE
button.
 Manual cue
1 During playback, press the play/pause (

) button and
pause playback around the point you wish to set as cue
point.
2 Find the accurate cue point.
Set the cue point using the frame number.
The cue p oint can be set in one-f r ame units (75 f r ames = one
second).
Use the jog dial o
r SEARCH (  ,  ) buttons to adjust the
f r ame p osition. Rotating the jog dial one r otation moves
p layback 75 f r ames, while pr essing
SEARCH
button once
moves the p layback one-f r ame in the designated di r ection.
Set the cue point while listening to the playback audio.
Rotate the jog dial slowly and r etu r n the p lay to the p oint just
befo r e the p lace you wish to begin p layback (if the jog mode is
something othe r than SCRATCH, the cue p oint will be the
p oint immediately afte r the sound hea r d in audible p ause).
3 Once the frame number or audible sound is at the desired
cue point, press the CUE button.
• The sound will be muted, and the
CUE
button indicato r will
light, indicating successful setting of the cue p oint.
• When a new cue p oint is set in memo r y, any pr eviously set
cue p oint will be clea r ed f r om memo r y.

Real time cue
During playback, press the IN/CUE button at the point you
wish to mark as a cue point.
This p oint will be r eco r ded as a new cue p oint.

To confirm the cue point (cue point sampler)
After setting the cue point, press and hold the CUE button.
The sound at the cue p oint will be audible so long as the
CUE
button is held de pr essed.

To return to the cue point (back cue)
1 During playback, press the CUE button.
The unit will r etu r n to the set cue p oint and ente r cue standby
mode.
2 Press the play/pause (

) button.
Playback will begin instantly f r om the cue p oint.

To modify a cue point (cue point modification)
1 During playback, press the CUE button.
The unit will r etu r n to the set cue p oint and ente r cue standby
mode.
2 Press one of the SEARCH (

,

) buttons.
• The cue p oint will be moved in one-f r ame inc r ements (the
cue p oint sound will move).
• The cue p oint can also be moved by pr essing one of the
SEARCH (  ,  ) buttons and then r otating the jog dial
(the cue p oint sound will move).
3 Press the CUE button.
The p oint at which the
CUE
button is pr essed fo r ms the newly
set cue p oint.
MEMO
• When p laying MP3/AAC/WAV/AIFF files, the va r iable r ange is
±6 %/±10 %/±16 % only.
• The tem p o r ange setting is pr ese r ved in memo r y even when
p owe r is tu r ned OFF.
• The va r iable r ange setting value is show in the dis p lay.
• In the case of a t r ack on DJ softwa r e, the tem p r ange will
de p end on the softwa r e’s s p ecifications.
