14 Mosport 1TE/2TE
Hardware Installation
This section describes how to set the connectors of the Mosport 1TE/2TE.
See “Appendix B - Cabling Considerations” on page 31 for more details on the cables the Mosport 1TE/2TE
uses.
Connecting Cables
The following describes how to connect the various cables to the Mosport 1TE/2TE.

To install the cables:
1. Before you begin, be sure that the Mosport 1TE/2TE is powered off.
2. Create a WAN connection by connecting a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet RJ-45 cable into the ETH5
connector of the Mosport 1TE/2TE.
The other end of the cable is connected to the WAN via a modem or other means.
See “Ethernet RJ-45 Cable” on page 31 for more details on this cable.
3. If you want to contact the unit via its LAN side, connect a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet RJ-45 cable into
either the
ETH1 , ETH2 , ETH3 , or ETH4 connectors of the Mosport 1TE/2TE. Connect the other end
to a computer.
See “Ethernet RJ-45 Cable” on page 31 for more details on this cable.
4. Create an ISDN connection by connecting an E1 RJ-45 cable into any of the two E1 / T1 connectors
of Slot 2/3 sections of the Mosport 1TE/2TE (Slot 3 is available on the Mosport 3632 model).
• If you are using the Mosport 1TE/2TE with a PBX, connect the other end of the cable to
the PBX.
• If you are using the Mosport 1TE/2TE with the PSTN, connect the other end of the
cable to a proper PSTN outlet.
5. Connect the power cord to the Mosport 1TE/2TE and then connect the other end to an electrical
outlet.
You are now ready to start the Mosport 1TE/2TE.
Caution:
The Mosport 1TE/2TE must be installed on a circuit equipped with a breaker so that you can
easily power the unit off if required.
Warning:
To avoid electrical shock, apply the following instructions:

The device must be installed by technical personnel.
•
Be sure the ground path is connected.

Warning:
The electrical outlet must be installed near the Mosport 1TE/2TE so that it is easily accessible.
