Conduzione di macchina diversa dall’esercizio
ordinario e consistente di regola in attività di instal-
lazione, piazzamento, regolazione, manutenzione

Pericolo
Potenziale fonte di lesione o danno alla salute.
Persona esposta (PES)
Qualsiasi persona che si trovi motivatamente nella
zona in cui agisce un Pericolo.
Rischio
Combinazione della probabilità e della gravità di
un evento di danno originato dall’esposizione a un
Pericolo.
Rischio residuo

Zona pericolosa (ZP)
Qualsiasi zona all’interno e/o in prossimità di una
macchina in cui un pericolo può provocare un even-
to di danno su una persona esposta.
Riparo

Dispositivo di protezione
Dispositivo (diverso da un riparo) che riduce il
rischio, da solo o associato ad un riparo.

Elemento di abbigliamento o apparecchio da in-
dossare con la funzione di ridurre determinati rischi
limitando l’esito di esposizione ai pericoli.
Dispositivo di sicurezza
Congegno/allestimento elettrico o meccanico o
elettromeccanico che previene infortuni e/o danni

Uso scorretto ragionevolmente prevedibile
L’uso della macchina in un modo diverso da quello
indicato nelle istruzioni per l’uso, ma che può
derivare dal comportamento umano facilmente

or WP personnel.
Danger
Potential source of injury or damage to health.

Any person rightfully within the area where a Dan-
ger exists.
Risk
Combination of probability and seriousness of a
damage arisen from the arising of a Danger.
Residue risk
Risk which subsistence and entity depends on the
behaviour of EP, and which is handled by means of
prescriptions, PPE, monitoring displays.
Dangerous area (DA)
Any area within and/or near a machine where a
danger can cause damage to an exposed person.
Guard
Machine element not necessary for production
purposes and intended to reduce the Risk linked to
a Danger by interposing a material or nonmaterial
barrier.
Protection device
Device (different from a guard) that reduces the
risk, on its own or associated to a guard.
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Element of clothing or equipment to be worn with
the function of reducing some risks, limiting the
result of exposure to dangers.
Safety device
Device/electrical or mechanical or electromechani-
cal set-up that prevents accidents and/or damages
WRSHUVRQVDQGWKLQJVLWFDQEHYROXQWDULO\DFWLYDWHG
by an operator or automatically by the presence of
a danger (the opening of a protection, access to a
certain area).
Intended use
The use of the machine within the limits of use and
destination assigned in the user instructions and/or
other occasions.
Reasonably predictable incorrect use
Use of the machine differently to that indicated in
the user instructions, but that may derive from an
easily predictable human behaviour or habits of the
