Your recorder does
not respond to any
button being pressed

Recorder in initial installation mode: Switch on the TV, switch over to the DVD recorder socket.
Now the menu for language selection should appear. Please read paragraph 'Initial Installation' in the chapter
'Installing your DVD Recorder'.
The device does not
react when you press a
button, although the
remote control works:

'Key lock' is switched on: All buttons on the front of the set are locked.
Switch off the function:

Pull out the mains plug from the wall outlet.

Press and hold down

and
OPEN/CLOSE

and put back the mains plug into the wall
outlet.

As soon as the time or '--:--' appears in the display (ca. 6 - 10 seconds), release

Your DVD recorder

There is no power supply: check the power supply

A programmed recording (Timer) is currently being made: If desired, cancel the programmed recording
(Timer) with
STANDBY

There is a technical problem: disconnect from the mains power supply for 30 seconds, then connect again.
If this doesn't help, you can reset your DVD recorder to the default factory settings.
Resetting the machine
to the default factory

Important:
All the information stored (TV channels, time and date, TIMER) will be lost.

Disconnect from the mains power supply.

Press and hold down the
STANDBY-ON
m
button on the device and reconnect to the
mains power supply.

Release the
STANDBY-ON
m
button when the features appears on the display. All the
information stored (TV channels, time and date, TIMER) will be lost.
Please read paragraph 'Initial Installation' in the chapter 'Installing your DVD Recorder'.
Remote control does
not work:

Remote control not pointed toward the DVD recorder: Point the remote control at the machine. See if the
'o(((' appears on the display briefly each time you press a remote control button. If it does, the Recorder is
receiving information from the remote correctly.
b
There is a technical problem: Take out the batteries, wait for 10 seconds and put them in again.
b
Batteries are flat: Change the batteries.
Data transfer from TV
set via 'EASYLINK'
does not work:
b
Data transfer is controlled via pin nr. 10 of the scart cable. It is possible that the connection to this pin is
interrupted or that the signal is distorted by an additional device connected to the
EXT2 AUX-I/O
socket.
b
Remove any scart switch boxes, mixing consoles, signal amplifiers, ... connected between the DVD recorder
and the TV set. Connect the DVD recorder directly to the TV set.
b
Remove any additional devices from the
EXT2 AUX-I/O
socket.
b
Try using another scart cable (all pins wired).
b
Please observe the installation order:
1) Switch on the TV set
2) Connect the DVD recorder to the mains
3) Switch on the DVD recorder using
STANDBY
m
4) The data transfer should now work.
