Install CPU Card

The AAC requires a CPU card in slot C1 or C2. There

are three types available.

•

The Standard Bus-Connect CPU card (Model
25806) supports up to two T1 or E1 WAN ports on
one WAN card installed in slot W1. It does not
support CPU redundancy.

•

The Enhanced Bus-Connect CPU card (Model
25888) supports up to four T1 or E1 WAN ports on
two WAN cards installed in slots W1 and W3. If
two are installed, the CPU card in slot C2 assumes
the functions of the CPU in slot C1 in the event that
the CPU in C1 malfunctions, is removed, or is
switched from the AAC control terminal.

•

The Cross-Connect CPU card (Model 25807)
supports up to eight T1 or E1 ports on four WAN
cards. It supports the cross-connection of DS0s
between T1s. If two are installed, switching from
one CPU to the other will occur in the event that
one malfunctions, is removed, or is switched from
the AAC control terminal.

Install the Interface Card

The Interface card (Model 25816) provides physical

connections to the AAC. It must be installed in slot IF.

Install the Alarm Card

An optional External Alarm card (Model 25830) can be

installed in any free user slot (U4 through U8). See the
ACCULINK Access Controller Reference Guide for
information about the External Alarm card. See the
COMSPHERE 3000 Series Carrier Installation Manual
for information about cabling COMSPHERE 3000 Series
Carriers for alarm systems.
