Setting the PS Printer Driver (DP-CL21M only)

Paper source

Selects the tray feeding media. If the Optional Paper Feeder is installed in the printer, Tray 2 is 
available. If the 2nd Optional Paper Feeder is installed, Tray 3 is available. Be sure the Optional 
Paper Feeder is defined as installed in the 

Device Options 

tab (

see page 162

).

• AutoSelect Tray:

The printer picks media from the tray loaded with the media that is selected in the 

Paper size

. 

When the tray is empty, the printer automatically picks media from another tray in the order of 

Tray 

1, Tray 2, 

and 

Tray 3.

• Multi-Purpose Tray:

Prints on paper, transparency or label, etc. loaded in the multi-purpose tray. Automatic duplex 
printing cannot be performed using the multi-purpose tray. To perform manual duplex printing, set 

Manual Duplex

 to

 in the 

Device Options

 tab (

see page 162

).

• Tray 1:

Prints on media loaded in the standard tray of the printer.

• Tray 2:

Prints on media loaded in the tray of the Optional Paper Feeder.
If 2 units of Optional Paper Feeder are installed, Tray 2 is the upper one.

• Tray 3:

Prints on media loaded in the tray of the lower Optional Paper Feeder when the 2nd Optional 
Paper Feeder is installed.

NOTE:

• Whatever you set the Paper Source to under Printer Properties, this will be overruled by the setting in 

the application under File - Page Setup - Paper Source. For example, if you use Microsoft Word*

 and 

set the paper source to “Tray 1” - this will be overruled the Multi-Purpose Tray’s paper source setting 
under Printer Properties.

• If an application can separately select the tray for the first page or other pages, AutoSelect Tray 

should not be selected for other pages. Otherwise, all pages will be fed from the tray for the first page.
