Manual Duplex / Automatic Duplex

Prints on both sides of paper by selecting either

Flip on long edge

or

Flip on short edge

. If

performing manual duplex printing when the automatic duplex printing is available, Duplex Type
setting in the Output tab must be set to

Manual

see page 127

). To perform manual duplex

printing,

“Manual Duplex Printing (Windows Only)” on page 73

in the “Basics” section.

If the Automatic Duplex Unit has been installed in your printer and it has been defined as
“installed” in the

Device

tab (

see page 137

), you can perform the automatic duplex printing (

see

“Performing Automatic Duplex Printing” on page 183

). Manual Duplex is changed to

Automatic Duplex.

To perform duplex printing, the following media and paper source must be selected.

If the Optional Paper Feeder has been installed, the selection can be available. If the 2nd
Optional Paper Feeder is installed, Tray 3 can be available.

Letter, Legal, A4 or B5 (JIS) must be used for automatic duplex printing.

Color Appearance

Selects whether the document should be printed in color or monochrome (Gray Scale). You can
also adjust the color manually by clicking on the

[Advanced...]

button and the

Quality

tab (

).
